An Afternoon as a Dragon
A downloadable game
On Curses and Dragons
Whether by your own hubris, a devilish deal, or simple bad luck, you've been cursed to be a dragon... but only in the afternoon. Now you must deal with your life as a human and tend to your needs as a dragon all while finding an end to the curse or choosing to embrace it. Just make sure the local royalty doesn't try to kill you!
An Afternoon as a Dragon is a bookmark sized journaling game about trying to live with different identities in a world that doesn't always accept that. You'll write about various challenges you'll deal with when you're living as a dragon, while trying to keep your secret from friends, family, and those who would seek to harm or kill you while as a human.
All you need to start playing is a deck of cards made up of faces and aces, along with 2d6, some paper, and a bit of imagination. Sessions are short with a minimum of 4 scenes or maximum of 16.
Printing
For best print options, print AnAfternoonAsADragonBW on portrait with shrink oversized pages and print on both sides of paper (flip on edge). The printable version is available if you choose to pay up to $1.

I played this game as a live action with some imaginative kids and while it was fun, there was definitely a challenge from the same scenarios coming up again. I think that I’m going to make some adaptations to the prompts so that I can use this with my classroom journaling project with my students and avoid the repetitions of the same events.
You can only run into your curser so many times before you decide that afternoon just started and you are a dragon and are now going to eat the source of your curse. 🤷🏼♀️
New Black & White version added. Optimized for printing!
A interesting little game. Can be a nice small thing to print and gift when returning the RPG books you borrowed from a friend.
I love this idea!
